Summer Hangin'

The girls have turned the tree in the front yard into their hangout space.  It is becoming their summer fun spot.  Shelby can pull herself up without any assistance.  Morgan on the other hand uses the roof of the cozy coupe for the extra lift she needs.

Notice the basket hanging on a string.  Shelby rigged up a pulley to get their books up to where they are and it holds their shoes while they are in the tree.

Not sure why, but I have visions of that little one rolling right off that limb.  So far so good though!

Daddy Day

Nate finished up a busy week of recruiting with staying home on Father's Day.  We went to church, out to lunch and relaxed at home.  I think his dream day would have been to relax in the chair, but life is not a dream but a reality.  And the reality is the 2 little people that make him a dad were not going to let him sit in the chair all day!
Don't they look like they are no good?!?  And no, we did not have a miniature baby no one told you about.  Morgan insisted her babydoll was in the picture.

Morgan's 1st T-ball Game

I have some blog posting catching up to do of the Hawks' fantastic end to the season, but wanted to get this particular ball game on the blog for Daddy who missed it while in Chicago recruiting those Hawks players who will get us back to the WS in 2014.
There is nothing more entertaining than 5 & 6 year olds playing any sport.  They did not disappoint.  I'm wondering if the poor girl standing in the pitcher's position that took a line drive between the eyes will have stitches from the ball imprinted on her forehead in the morning?  Can you say, THANK GOD FOR SOFT BASEBALLS!!!!  They have had a total of 4 practices.  At times it looked like they haven't had any!  Here are some pictures of our Blue Cardinal.
ready to head to the ball park
picture for daddy
Morgan & Henry waiting their turn to bat
big swing!
on 1st base doing what she does best
chewing on her fingers
playing the field
chewing fingers
 chewing fingers
using her feet to make a pile of dirt
stretching
and finally in a ready position!
2nd at-bat
RUN!!!!!
it's a bird, it's a baseball, no it's an airplane!!!
delay of game as every one of them stood there staring up at an incoming airplane!
I think she had a good time.  Each time she came for a water break she'd take a drink and then run back to the field.  Even though she spent most of her time chewing on her fingers or kicking dirt, she never said she was bored.  GO BLUE CARDINALS!!!
